How to Add Safe Senders in BT Mail

Follow this guide to ensure important emails reach your inbox in BT Mail by adding email addresses and domains to your safe senders list, creating filters, or updating your contact list.

  1. Add Emails to Safe Senders List:
    1. Log in to your BT Mail account.
    2. Click on the gear icon to access Settings.
    3. Select Mail from the left-hand menu, then choose Safe senders.
    4. In the Safe senders section, enter the email address or domain you wish to allow.
    5. Click Add to save the entry.
    6. Repeat for any additional addresses or domains.
  2. Add Contacts to Your Address Book:
    1. From the BT Mail main page, go to Contacts.
    2. Click on Add contact at the top of the contacts list.
    3. Input the contact’s name and email address.
    4. Click Save to add them to your address book.
  3. Set Up Filters to Prioritize Emails:
    1. Access Settings via the gear icon.
    2. Select Mail and then click on Filters.
    3. Click Add to create a new filter.
    4. Choose the conditions and actions; for example, move emails from specific addresses directly to your inbox.
    5. Name the filter and click Save to enable it.

Tips

Tip 1: Regularly check your junk or spam folders for legitimate emails and add them to your safe senders list to prevent future misclassification.

Tip 2: Be cautious when adding domains to your allowlist to prevent phishing attacks; only add trusted senders.
