How to Add Safe Senders in Telus Webmail

Ensuring that important emails arrive in your inbox and do not get caught by spam filters is crucial. This guide will help you add safe senders and use various methods to manage your email preferences in Telus Webmail effectively.

  1. Add to Contact List

One of the simplest ways to ensure emails from a particular sender aren’t marked as spam is to add them to your contact list.

    1. Log in to your Telus Webmail account.
    2. Go to the Contacts section, usually found on the sidebar.
    3. Click on the Add Contact or New Contact button.
    4. Enter the sender’s email address and other relevant information.
    5. Save the contact.
Tip: Adding senders to your contact list is a simple but effective method to prevent their emails from being flagged as spam.
  2. Set Up Email Filters

Filters can automatically sort emails and prevent them from being marked as spam.

    1. Click on the Settings gear icon usually located at the top-right corner.
    2. Select Filters from the dropdown menu.
    3. Click Add to create a new filter.
    4. Enter a name for the filter and set the criteria (e.g., Email Address is [example@example.com]).
    5. Select the Move to Inbox option to ensure the emails are sent to your inbox.
    6. Click Save to apply the filter.
Tip: Filters can also be used to sort emails into specific folders based on criteria like sender, subject, or keywords.
  3. Manage Safe Senders List

Updating your safe senders list will help you manage who can bypass the spam filter.

    1. Navigate to the Settings section.
    2. Look for Spam or Junk Mail settings.
    3. Find the Safe Senders list option.
    4. Add the email addresses you wish to allow.
    5. Save the changes to ensure the settings are updated.
  4. Check and Review Spam Folder Regularly

Sometimes, important emails might still end in the spam folder.

    1. Locate the Spam folder in your email list.
    2. Review the emails periodically and mark legitimate emails as Not Spam.
    3. This action helps Telus Webmail learn which emails are important to you.
Tip: Regularly checking your spam folder can prevent missing important messages inadvertently caught by spam filters.
